Tagged releases for Linux, Windows and macOS

The app repo gained a release pipeline this week. Pushing a v* tag builds a Linux x86_64 bundle, a Windows x86_64 bundle, and macOS bundles for Apple silicon and Intel. Each run adds a SHA256SUMS.txt, a build-provenance attestation, and opens a draft GitHub release for a human to review.

What shipped alongside it:

  • A cargo-deny policy covering licenses, sources and advisories, plus in-semver updates of rustls, webbrowser and quinn-proto to clear RustSec advisories.
  • Fixes so the Windows and macOS test jobs pass. Real-server end-to-end tests now run one at a time (shared transfer-progress counters were overwriting status text), and Windows path comparisons and test-media cleanup are handled.

There is no versioned release yet. Until the first tag lands, the quickest way to play is to build from source with ./play.sh — see the Play page. Windows and macOS builds are checked in CI but still need native launch checks and a two-person playtest.
